Don’t You Forget About Me

Goodbye John Hughes – a film director that really seemed to understand what it was like to be a teenager. Although there have been plenty of tributes to him already, please visit ‘We'll Know When We Get There’s blog and read her post ‘Sincerely, John Hughes’. It really is some kind of wonderful…

John Hughes died?! Noooo. That's so sad. I'll read the tribute now. I read this and immediately thought Home Alone and his name below the lit up house. That's so sad. : (

And Planes Trains and Automobiles. Haha. Sorry, I just went to his imdb page. He was so young too.

His films provided the back-drop (and sound track!) to growing up. Now I just feel sadder and older.

I remember loving The Breakfast Club so deeply when I first saw it - me and my friends (aged 14) would watch it over and over - in fact it was the only thing we did watch at the time, apart from horror movies! Later I also loved Pretty in Pink with a similar passion, although I couldn't see why she didn't end up with Duckie... and why she wore that giant pink loo roll to the prom.

I'm going to have to lose myself in childhood this weekend and re-watch some of these...

You go for it Jayne, I loved those John Hughes movies too. Pretty In Pink and Sixteen Candles were my favourites. I like your description of the giant pink loo roll Molly wore. What's she doing now? Thanks for the post. :)

Hi AW - I still have to watch Sixteen Candles, I've never seen it. Tonight is for catching up with Ferris Beuller... Beuller... Beuller? :)
