Snow Cats!

Abigail and Ginger are very curious about these bold white cats who have mysteriously taken up residence on the window ledge.

Sadly I have no pictures of the real Abigail and Ginger playing in the snow to share with you as the look they gave me when I tried to coax them outside would have withered Little Miss Sunshine. So instead let me take you on a little magical journey...

Down a road, not very far away, is a tea shop. It is the most wonderful tea shop ever, but the way to it had been blurred around the edges.

The news person on the television said 'Do not make any unnecessary journeys in the snow', but walking to a tea shop to eat a cupcake was suddenly deemed a very necessary journey to make. So the girl layered up until she was one foot taller and three foot wider, and set off down the road.

In her imagination she went this way...

...and fearlessly tracked snow leopards through jungles and fields...

In reality she walked along here - careful cars breaking the soft silence.

But it wasn't long before she was snugly tucked into her favourite seat, notebook open, tea brewing, and cupcake eaten.

You'd have to be as quick as a snow leopard to photograph this girl with a intact cupcake. But imagine the most loveliest red velvet cupcake - light, fresh, and just plain mmm-delicious, and you will know why the girl was smiling as she scribbled in her note-book.

Tea shops, cupcakes ... always worth tramping through the snow for. Keep that scribbling up!

I wondered about you venturing out in the snow but of course, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! Especially for a cupcake!

Those are some cool cats!

That sounds like an excellent reason to visit the tea shop. :)

What a lovely post. I love the idea of the lady on the radio reading this post and revising her version of what a necessary trip entails. That would be good! :-)

I love your snow cats.

Always nice to have a walk with an objective! Not a tea shop within miles of here when I go trudging off into the white stuff.

Sounds like it was well worth the effort. The cup of tea looks nice too, I'll just go and make myself one :-)

I expect the real cats are pretending to be snow cats out in the garden! If they have any sense they will be hiding in a warm place.
Lovely trip to a lovely cafe.
We can only imagine the cake!

I'd be smiling too! I love tea and cupcakes in cold weather.

Abigail and Ginger probably thought you nuts if you imagined them being outside in the snow. That's for snow kitties only.

PS Those are the first snow kitties I've ever seen too.

THAT'S what I really want to do today, walk to a tea shop with my notebook and people watch, write, and eat cupcakes. (<-- notice the plural there!) Instead, I have to take the children to the dentist and help them Christmas shop for their father and the cat. *sigh* Maybe I'll bake cupcakes later this afternoon....

Happy Holidays!!

Snow cats are a riot, a new idea to try. I set a birdfeeder next to a window to amuse my cats. That was my baby Abigail sitting next to me last weekend, and now my hallways echo , even in a small home such as mine.

I love the snow cats! wasn't the weekend weird- every journey felt like a battle, I wonder if that's how it is in properly cold countries all the time? they must all just want to hibernate all winter long!

Jayne...I love the two cats on the windowsill. They are gorgeous.
I can understand you undertaking the trip to the tea shop, as red velvet cupcakes are worth all the trouble.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
