Don’t put your daughter on a course, Mrs. Worthington

I don’t think I could
Go back to school.
I can’t sit still,
And concentrate at all!
I can focus for an hour;
Minutes maybe ten.
After that my brain is fuzzy,
And I’m asleep again.
I stare ahead blankly;
Trying to look clever.
While wondering why
This day is taking forever...

Title nicked with thanks to the genius of Noël Coward

It's so hard to go back to school once you've been working in the real world! Great poem :)

Goodness, sometimes I wonder why I torture my children with school. I felt like this when I was IN school. I can't imagine going back now! What a sweet, funny poem. And loved the accompanying pictures!

Loved that, I've been on quite a few study days at work recently and I find them sooo zzzzzz

Love it!!

All my doodles during work meetings/courses tend to be far less artistic than this :)

I think they call this ADHD now. When I was a kid they called me lazy, antsy, underachiever.
Sitting in meetings is still torture. As a musician I even hate concerts unless the music fantastic. (I have a post coming up describing just this experience.)

That's why I could never go back to shool.

Love the poem. :D

I loved this! Sounds like me, easily distracted, tired and bored out of my mind by the end of first period!!!

I'm imagining a child say this, they just wake up one morning and realize that school isn't for them... hehe makes me chuckle!

Very funny post, especially since I lived it only a month ago. School is boring only when you're in school, but once you're out you sort of miss it, like I am now...

P.S. Thank you for commenting on my post a few days ago and following!

Write on!

Every year, on the night before school starts, my husband always gets this big smile on his face. When asked why, he always says... gleefully... "I'm just so glad I don't have to go back to school!".

My thought is that creative people so often have trouble with structured learning!

Me too, and I'm the teacher.

This is awesome! Let me tell you that my notebooks from first grade until my last day of graduate school are riddled with doodles! Flowers were plastered all over the pages.

Thank you all for the comments! Managed to survive, just about. At one point it was touch and go!
