Kew Gardens in autumn

Sunday was a perfect day for a picnic at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (which we all know as Kew Gardens). Although don't spend so long admiring the plants and trees that you lose track of time and end up getting accidentally locked in. Whoops.

Gorgeous pictures! Where I live in Texas we have just started getting cooler weather but no leaf changes as yet. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous photos! This little bit of Indian summer is a welcome reprieve from the greyness we were having.

I'm loving the autumnal blogs I'm reading at the moment, it helps me get ready for the colder weather, to appreciate how lovely autumn and winter can be!

Lovely photos, thank you for the reminder about how fantastic Kew Gardens is. I haven't been for a couple of years but this has made me determined to change that. I have never been locked in though. Well, not yet anyway!

I love Kew Gardens and can quite understand how you can get so carried away that you can get locked in!
Superb photos.

And what's the protocol when one gets locked in? Wait till morning or kick up a fuss or scale some impossible heights?

Oh how lovely - we lived around the corner just near Kew Village for three years - I used to while away the hours pushing a pram through the gardens. No I did not have a yummy mummy-bug-a-boo-Kew pram and hair to match. I probably looked shocking but happy....! Lovely pics.

Did you seriously get locked in?!?! Seriously?!?! LOL!! Well there can't be nicer places for this to happen!

I've been to Kew so many times but never been to the very back - the wild bit where they've now build a bridge betweeen trees? Only because we always spend so much time in the greenhouses - always.

Oh these are lovely lovely pics!! Thanks for sharing them here! Glad you had a great Sunday!

Take care
x

I have decided that I want to get locked in on purpose. That way I will have it all to myself for hours and hours. Those pictures remind me of Huntington Gardens out here in California. It has been too long since I last visited. Thank you for the reminder.

I am in Melbourne right now and its a kind of spring - everything is blooming beautifully. I came from Sri Lanka where we are having torrential rains! everything was drowned there. This is also so beautiful. thanks.

Oh, the fall colours are so lovely! I'm envious, we don't get them as dramatically here in California, we really have to search for them.

Oh well, plenty of leaves to chew on should you really get locked in. And no trouble finding materials for a log cabin, looking at the height of that tree.

Catherine – Thank you! I hope Texas will soon get lovely leaf colours.

fairyhedgehog – Back to grey now, sadly!

Talli – Hope you did too!

Joanna – Yes, I did get locked in. Oops. Kew Gardens is lovely, but a long way from where I live, would love to be able to hop on the bus to get there!

The English Writer – I generally love most things about autumn; winter has to persuade me.

Happy Frog and I – It was surprisingly easy to get locked in. I think they forgot about us! Luckily there was rescue in the form of a park ranger.

Maggie May – It is lovely, isn’t it?

Carole – I was very lucky with the weather that day!

Mise – The protocol is one makes a fuss into a yellow telephone and then waits sheepishly to be let out.

Ann – How lovely to have lived near by! Looking shocking but happy works for me.

Old Kitty – Yup, seriously did! And I was at the very back – the wild bit over the bridge. It was lovely but so easy to lose track of time as I kept snapping pictures.

KarenG – Thanks!

What lovely pictures! I love autumn.

Sandy Shin – Cheers! And that reminds me to follow your new blog. :)

Carolyn V. – I had to call a park ranger who turned up on his golf buggy. I felt very sheepish.

Lydia Kang - Glad you liked them!

Pat Tillett – Cheers!

Alexandra – Yup! Luckily was let out again by a park ranger so didn’t have to spend the night kipping under a leaf.

lora96 – Thank you!

SH – Glad you liked them!

Plain Jane – It was very strange – one minute it was light and other people were about, the next it was dark and the place was deserted! And then I couldn’t find the correct exit – plenty of locked gates instead. But the lake and trees siloutted against the sky looked amazingly beautiful. I’ve just looked up the Huntington Gardens online – what a lovely place.

Mystica – Enjoy spring! The seasons are at their best at the beginning, I think.

The Words Crafter – Hopefully they are on their way to changing now!

Gigi – It was gorgeous to wander around. I didn’t go in any of the greenhouses but explored the wilder parts – such fun!

kobico – Searching for them sounds kind of fun though, as I bet they are more appreciated when found.

Rose – It was!

Rachna – Thank you.

Rayna – Hee! It was lovely.

Hart – It was fun until we realised we were proper locked in!

Fran – Maybe I should have took inspiration from The A Team. I was too busy wondering how to get out!

LeishaMaw – Glad you liked them!

Hannah – Me too, Hannah!
